We are officially 14 days away from my due date, but of course, that means nothing. The baby could come tomorrow (which we're voting for) or in 3 weeks. Only God knows the exact day and time, but until then, we sit and wait patiently. Every day is creeping by as we try to keep our routine going to distract us. Claire states daily to my belly, "Baby come out!"
Speaking of Claire, I can't even imagine what this whole pregnancy/birth process is like to a 2 year old. Your mother's belly just keeps getting bigger, her lap smaller, and they tell you that this baby is going to just going to pop out of her body and it will be yours to keep. As i think about it, this is a great picture of how we love God. We never see God, but we know he is there and can believe in him because of what we are told or read or feel. A child is merely told a baby is growing in there, never seeing it actually, but they believe you and love that baby just as they love you. They wait and wait for what seems like eternity, and may actually be half of their little life, but that baby is real to them because they trust and believe what ever we tell them. The are so innocent and impressionable! I can not wait for her to see and hold her new baby.
The polls are open-My definite vote is a boy on this one. I would be completely shocked if this baby came out a girl. Not to mention, Kenneth will be running around town exchanging lots of blue things. People always ask how I "know" and it's not the pregnancy or how i carry, it's just a feeling! Kenneth tells everyone that i'm 3 for 3 so far, so his vote is boy also!
We look forward to sharing with you all the news as soon as he/she arrives!
By the way, i did not slack on Christmas cards/pictures this year. I decided to be more economical and combine our "New Years" letter and baby announcement in one. So be on the look out sometime in the next month!
